First, your dentist will use a special, protective barrier to cover your gums and tooth-root surfaces. He will then apply a professional-grade hydrogen peroxide gel, designed to get your teeth at their whitest. The dentist will use a specialized tool known as a retractor to keep your lips and cheeks at a safe distance. Next, a special light or laser may be used to activate the bleaching element.
