All-on-4® is a complete treatment especially designed for patients without enough bone for conventional implants. In the past, if a patient had not enough jawbone left for dental implants, they only had two choices: regular dentures or a jawbone graft procedure. All-on-4® provides the choice for implants without necessitating a jawbone graft.
The All-on-4® Remedy
Bone grafting certainly has advantages, but it also increases cost, and demands more time for recuperation. The All-on-4® remedy to the jawbone grafting difficulty was started over 30 years ago in Portugal. Research, testing, and advancement, followed by years of study around the globe, led to obviously clear evidence of the following benefits that come from All-on-4®:
- Higher Grade — The implants used with All-on-4® are specifically engineered for customers with less jawbone.
- Lower Cost — Half of the budget for dental implants comes from the need for bone grafts. Eliminating bone grafts while securely depending on remaining bone decreases expense.
- Less Time — Bone grafts must recover and solidify before implant procedures can start, prolonging the time from start to finish. With All-on-4®, no bone grafts are needed.
- Better Aesthetics — Many customers are good to leave our office with their first set of “healing dentures” on the day we place their dental implants.
Utilizing All-on-4® lets more adults take advantage of the life-altering benefits of implants. And to offer additional trust, the entire All-on-4® product line is produced by Nobel Biocare, a Scandinavian company that was the initial to offer implants for use worldwide.
The All-on-4® Procedure
Your First All-on-4® Consultation
Only 4 dental implants are needed to restore the teeth on the mandibular and maxillary arch of the jaw, therefore the name All-on-4®. At your initial consultation for All-on-4®, our Loomis dentist discusses your objectives. For example, do you want permanently fixed dentures, or the kind that snap-off and on the implants? What appearance and color would you desire for the teeth? What is your medical background and how will it affect your procedure? Are you attaching All-on-4® for both the maxillary and mandibular arch, or just one?
Where to Install Your Implants?
After discussing your options, we then lead to the consideration of where to place your implants. Placing dental implants is precise work. Our dentist needs to know perfectly how much jawbone you have and where the bones are toughest. The location and length of the implants are determined by taking x-rays and scans of the mouth and the surrounding bone scaffold. All-on-4® offers different sizes of implants and designs of dental prosthetics based on your individual requirements.
The All-on-4® Implant Procedure
Digital data about your bone structure, jaw, and gumline is used to construct guides that help the dentist to place the implants exactly. Certain tooth extractions may be required and revisions may be done to your gumline for cosmetic reasons. The implants are all attached at the same time. For most clients, after verifying the sturdiness of the implants’ connection to the jawbone, temporary “healing dentures” are screwed in place on the implants, so you can leave our dental practice with a full set of teeth on the same day as your procedure.
