All-on-4® is a full procedure specifically created for customers without enough jawbone for conventional dental implants. Before, if a patient had not enough jawbone left for dental implants, they only had two choices: common dentures or a bone graft treatment. All-on-4® presents the choice for implants without needing a bone graft.
Why Use All-on-4®?
Previously, the only cure for a lack of bone was affixing more bone with grafting. Although bone grafting has advantages, it also increases the price and needs more time for mending. The All-on-4® solution to the bone grafting challenge was initiated over thirty years ago in Portugal. Research, testing and creation, followed by years of scientific study around the world, led to apparent evidence of the following benefits that come from All-on-4®:
- Lower Cost — 50% of the price of implants typically comes from the demand for bone grafting. Eliminating bone grafts reduces the price of the All-on-4® treatment.
- Better Grade — If you do not undergo jawbone grafts, you need finer implants that can still affix snugly to accessible jawbone. All-on-4® dental implants were solely engineered for this task.
- Minimal Time — All-on-4® eliminates the healing time involved for jawbone grafts and right away gives an operational, solid connection to the jawbones for most patients.
- Superior Esthetics — By placing teeth on the same day of the treatment, All-on-4® starts building patient confidence quickly!
So, if you’re weary from loose dentures or have labored to brave life without teeth, the All-on-4® technique is established to aid you and the Yuba City Dentistry Group is ready to help with this life-changing procedure.
The All-on-4® Procedure
Your Initially All-on-4® Consultation
First, we want to understand what your objectives are for a full mouth rehabilitation. Are you satisfied with your lower or upper jaw and just need to replace one arch? Do both arches need reconstruction? Do you have any physical, behavioral, or medical issues that affect the selections we make to create the finest possible result? Do you need permanently attached dentures or “snap-in” artificial teeth that are detachable for cleaning your teeth?
Where to Attach Your Implants?
After determining your goals, we then advance to the question of where to place your implants. Placing implants is meticulous work. Our doctor needs to understand perfectly how much jawbone you have and where the bones are solid. The location and length of the dental implants are determined by taking scans and x-rays of the oral cavity and the surrounding jawbone system. All-on-4® provides certain sizes of dental implants and designs of dental prosthetics based on your custom needs.
The All-on-4® Implant Process
Digital information about your bone structure, gumline, and jaw is used to create guides that aid the dentist to place the dental implants precisely. Some tooth extractions may be required, and revisions may be done to your gumline for cosmetic reasons. The dental implants are all placed at the same time. For most customers, after verifying the sturdiness of the implants’ attachment to the jawbone, transitional “healing dentures” are screwed in place on the dental implants, so you can leave our dental office with a full group of teeth on the same day as your procedure.
Finishing Your Procedure
Two to three months later, when the implants have fused with your bone, we attach the permanent dentures and your All-on-4® treatment is concluded. You leave with a fully useful set of teeth that restore your capacity to eat, sing, and speak and live the manner in which you want!
