Cigna offers a variety of PPO plans, allowing members to choose their own dental care provider whether it’s for routine or specialized treatment. Cigna’s network of dentists and specialists has over 72,000 providers nationwide.
Cigna, like United Healthcare, provides a family deductible for the year of $150. For families of 4 or more members, this means that once the deductible is paid for 3 people there are no more deductibles for the year. The deductible for individuals is $50 and Cigna Dental PPO plans are available to individuals in every state, except Washington.

Cigna Preventive Dental Insurance
All preventative services, including cleanings and x-rays are covered with no yearly maximum. Restorative and orthodontic procedures are the sole responsibility of the patient. Discounts are available for all services.
Cigna 1000 Dental Insurance
This plan covers preventative, diagnostic and restorative procedures up to $1000 max per person. Orthodontic coverage has a lifetime max of $1000 per member but is dealt with separately.
Cigna 1500 Dental Insurance
This is Cigna’s premier dental insurance plan and has all the benefits of Cigna 1000 with a higher maximum of $1,500 for preventive, diagnostic and restorative procedures per member. The orthodontic lifetime maximum is still $1,000 per person.
