Types of Invisalign

Invisalign is the nearly invisible plastic aligner therapy advised by our Yuba City dentists as an alternative to the usual braces. Like braces, Invisalign aligners straighten impacted or crowded teeth, restore bite difficulties, and fix gaps between teeth. But what different forms of Invisalign treatment are manufactured? And how do you decide which kind is right for you?

Adult Invisalign

Many adults want to straighten their teeth, but are simply unready to go through with metal braces as an option at this time in life. Because Invisalign aligners are created of nearly invisible plastic, they provide an almost unseen alternative to braces. Similar to braces, the aligners are made to gradually nudge your teeth into place. Importantly however, unlike braces, Invisalign aligners are detachable, enabling you to remove them when you floss and brush. Most wearers experience an elevation in self-esteem and gladly wear the aligners for the advised 20-22 hours per day.

Invisalign for Teens

Wearing braces is a rite of passage for many younger people. But today, Invisalign for Teens is the favored option for many. Similar to Invisalign for Adults, Invisalign Teen aligners are also made of comfortable, nearly invisible plastic. The aligners provide younger people all of the advantages of the adult model, including the ability to remove them to floss and brush, plus the freedom to chew on gum and eat foods like apples and popcorn — all of which is not possible when you’re wearing braces.

Invisalign Express

The Invisalign Express process is a shorter version of the complete Invisalign process, typically consisting of five stages and made to be completed in three months or less. However, the process is not for everyone, because it is actually made for patients with minor orthodontic abnormalities (such as very mild spacing or crowding problems). Plus, in such a short time period, it is only possible to fix one orthodontic issue, not multiple abnormalities.

Clients qualified for Invisalign Express receive a collection of five aligners, with a replacement pair mailed to their door each and every two weeks. The objective is always to gradually shift the patient’s teeth into the intended spot.
