Take Control with Insurance

It’s not too early to think ahead and resolve to make dental health a priority for you and your family in 2018. Dental coverage is available to enrollees of Covered California and open enrollment ends January 31, 2018. If you are eligible for health insurance through Covered California, you are also eligible for preventive dental coverage. Considered an “essential health benefit” under the Affordable Care Act, dental care for children is automatically provided when they are enrolled. Adults and families that want broader coverage can also purchase plans if they already buy their health insurance via the California insurance exchange.

Why Dental Health Is Important

Why would dental care be considered an “essential health care benefit” in the first place? Good dental habits help you reduce the risk of health complications and chronic conditions. Heart disease, cardiovascular illnesses, diabetes, and complications in pregnancy can all be tied to problems with oral health. On the other side, osteoporosis and prescription drug side effects are linked with oral health complications. Combining your health care with dental care is the best way to avoid medical issues and unwanted emergency room visits.

All dental plans through Covered California include free preventive and diagnostic care, like cleanings, x-rays and exams twice a year. The Yuba City Dentistry Group accepts a wide variety of dental plans and is happy to answer questions about your specific form of coverage. Don’t delay in making dental health a priority in 2018!

I am sure thankful that the powers that be led me to this dentist office. From the front desk to the dentist to the hygienist to the assistants, each person there there is a cut above when it comes to friendliness, competence and professionalism. From my experience, these people are truly kind and truly care. I had an infection that was not responding to the prescribed antibiotic and it was a Friday and instead of forcing me to dwell in the extreme pain all weekend and despite the fact that they were booked solid, they cared enough to find a way to see me and still provide quality and competence service. This is so rare these days that I am deeply deeply moved and can recommend them without hesitation.
